Eurocup Statistics - no more chance after home beating 0-2
In the first two semifinal matches of Champions League the home team lost 0-2. Does it have any chance to win?
If we look through the whole European Cups' History, and this is more than 17000 matches, we can find both.
So, in a season 71/72 (UEFA Cup, round of 64) Lierse SK won return game against Leeds United with a score 4-0. The same story was in this season in Europe League - Anorthosis won against Sibenik 3-0 after 0-2 home defeat and Sporting CP won against Brondby (0-2, 3-0).
Through the whole history we can find just 7 times, when the team, which lost the first game 0-2, was able to come through.
However, if we analyse the final lap of the Champions League, we could find just 5 times the team lost the first game with 0-2. You can see all results below.
