EuroCupsHistory on social networks

28 September 2020, 19:30:00

EuroCupsHistory appeared in the era when social networks were just emerging and won their first visitors. We started in 2009, when Facebook hadn't even gone public yet. FB shares appeared on the stock exchange only in 2012 :)

Twitter at that time was only gaining popularity and Donald Trump did not know about its existence.

So far, more than 95% of site visitors come to us from Google - this is neither good nor bad, but our project is practically unknown on social networks - the time has come to change this.

You can subscribe to the group of our site on Facebook

And follow us on Twitter

Social networks require more text and visual content for interactive communication with users. From our side, we will prepare interesting statistics for each round of European club competitions. And we hope to get more likes, shares and retweets from you.

EuroCupsHistory updates before season 2020-21

26 September 2020, 16:20:00

The last few years have not been active on the project, and for a very long time the database stopped at about the middle of the 2012-13 season. However, all this time, I constantly received requests from users who asked when the project database base would be updated. As a result, at the beginning of this year, I decided to update the project again, at least add to the database all the last seasons of UEFA European club tournaments and possibly the most popular national championships.

Until the end of the year, I planned to slowly add matches and check all the old entries. Who knew that Covid-19 & the lockdown would "help" to speed up the process of updating the project. I devoted more time to the project database, fixed old problem areas, updated the database by the end of the 2019-20 season and will gradually post the matches of the current season.

It is very pleasant that despite my old-fashioned design, which I did back in 2009, visitors are still coming to the project. During the 2019-20 Champions League final, the website set a record of attendance - over 8,000 visitors per day.

In the new season, I will increase the number of clubs in the project base and the number of digitized competition tables. It is also planned to connect several more analytical tables for UEFA club competitions.

In addition to information work, the design of the project will be improved - the style a-la 90s will gradually be replaced by a new "mobile-friendly" style. Moreover, the project will develop its presence in social networks, from where very few visitors come to us so far.

"Valencia" - "Genk": again 7:0 and almost new record in Champions League

24 November 2011, 21:50:39

In the match of the 5th round of the Champions League, "Valencia" in its field hasn't left one stone upon another of the Belgian "Racing Genk". Final score 7-0 almost set a little absolute record of the Champions League.

The biggest victory in the main stage of the Champions League is still the home win, "Liverpool" over " Besiktas", 8-0 in the season 07/08.

Quite the same results had London "Arsenal" (season 07/08, 7-0 against the Prague "Sparta"), "Juventus" (3.4, 7-0 against the "Olympiacos") and away win "Marceille" over "Zilina" last season. All victories were obtained in the matches of the group round.

There were some very interesting results before, like HJK Helsinki defeated "Bangor" 10-0 in the second qualifying round in the home play.

Another six matches ended with the score 8:0. Funny, but the Welsh "Barry Town" didn't have luck twice in the games with Kiew "Dynamo" and "Porty" Portugal - both 0:8.
